What's New in the New Year?

Well we are getting back into routine mode.Tristen finished her first semester of preschool and for the most part I think she enjoyed it. She can be a bit of a turkey at times when she doesn't want to go to preschool (she wants to stay at home with Blake and I), she will pretend she is sleeping in her car seat. Thank heavens this child is wired a little more like me because I know most of her "tricks". Tristen also started primary (Sunbeams) a few weeks ago at church. Like preschool I think she enjoys it, however I can tell she has a little anxiety when it comes to change.

As far as what's new with Jason, he has been  back at school for the past 3 weeks. He is traveling downtown this semester so it is a little more demanding on him. However it does give him more time on the train to study and do homework, which kind of works out. I am thankful for all the hard work and sacrifices he makes for our family. As mentioned before in Jason's free time he continues to work on the basement. The framing and the wiring to the lighting are pretty much complete (just the small things left) .The next steps are to run conduit for the power outlets and then probably the copper work for the bathroom. Fun stuff huh? Any ways, this is a big project to undertake so I think patience and pacing oneself is the key, especially for busy first timers. However, it is fun seeing how the basement is coming together after every step is completed. I am looking forward to the dry wall going up that way it will feel more like a useable space.

As for me, I think I am doing pretty good. I am happy that I only have 10 weeks of this pregnancy left! When I am pregnant I always think of it as a bit of a out of body experience...meaning I feel like a different person physically and emotionally (hormones, you have to love them). I recognize it is only for a short time so I try to embrace it.  However, I am SOOOO looking forward to having my body back (minus all the baby weight), my energy back, and just to be hormonally balanced (yes folks, a good sappy commercial can bring out a few tears in this gal). Oh well, sometimes I just laugh at myself because I know certain things are just so not me these days :)  But so far all is well with the baby and myself, I just need to have some more blood work done after my 28 week blood glucose screening. I passed with flying colors the blood/sugar test, and even with my iron levels, however I guess my blood platelet levels are lower than normal. Nothing to be worried about at this point, they just want to keep an eye on me to make sure they don't drop any further (pregnancy and all the weird things it can do to your body?!?)  But I am healthy and happy overall, so life is good. Other than that there isn't too much new going on with us.  Below are just some pics of the kids and the basement (as requested :)

Blake, 19 months, his little personality is definitely coming out more and more these days. He is very active, his hobbies include, climbing, running, and getting into things he isn't supposed to be in :)

Tristen showing of her apron that we made, just in the sense that we personalized it by adding iron on's....no sewing was involed here, just a hot iron (that's how we roll in the bodily home)

Okay, so I am still waiting for the perfect picture of my kids together...normally I get one that is distracted, the other making a goofy face, or they are simply in  the melt down stage. Oh well, they are cute to me and I guess it gives me an excuse to take more pictures.

Pardon the mess, we had to move things around so we can put in the electrical outlets in. This is a shot of the par of the rec room

This is the other end of the rec. room

Standing in the rec room, looking in to the hall. Straight down the hall is the bedroom. To the right is the storage room, to the left furnace room (storage under the stairs). If you go further down the hall and turn left the bathroom is there.

Bathroom, just part of it. It is actually a long room and will have a full bath/shower. We still need to put the copper pipes in.

Some electrical work (conduit had to be run and wires pushed through)
