Tristen's 1st Play Date

So as I mentioned in my previous blog Tristen has been very jealous of the new baby at times. Well one day a friend of mine from church called and asked if she could take Tristen for a couple of hours so I could have a break. I was very hesitant at first to yes, but I thought maybe it might be the best thing for Tristen since I don't want to take Blake outside too much in this hot and humid weather. The only reason why I was hestitant (yes most parents would jump at the chance to get a couple hours away from their almost 2 yr old when they have been acting up a lot) was due to the fact that besides Jason and myself and the grandparents, Tristen has never been with anyone else. Tristen in the last couple of months has finally developed more of an interest in other kids and in the nursery so I was crossing my fingers that she would love the play date I set up for her. Well take a look at the pics and decide for yourself how Tristen's big day went.

One of my fav. pics of Tirsten and Jason, it was for a gift that Tristen gave her daddy on Father's Day.

Well we have survived the first 3 weeks home with Blake. To be honest he is a really good baby! He has his days and nights figured out, it has been that way since he came home from hospital, so we have been getting more sleep at night than I expected. For the past few nights he has only been getting up twice, 12:30am and 4:30am....not bad. Tristen is doing a lot better with Blake as well, at first she was jealous and would get upset every time you mentioned his name or would try to hold him. Now Tristen smothers Blake with kisses, she tries to feed him and give him his pacifier. She actually tries to change his diaper at times and she is constantly asking where Blake when he is sleeping in his bassinet. So our little family is doing great.I am so pleased that I have adjusted well to having 2 kids at home (it has been easier than I thought, probably b/c I was prepared to have a more challenging baby like Tristen). I do have my challenging moments when both kids are crying and I am in the middle of something, but that is kids for you. Here are a few more pics of the family. I have a lot more pics I want to post and entries I want to make but I will see what I have time for :)

Blake doing what Blake does best...SLEEP :)

Dad, Blake, and jealous/struggling big sister Tristen. Yes, in case you were wondering Tristen wasn't enjoying Blake at this point in the game.

Tristen on the swing at the park the 2nd day after we got out of the hospital. Yes, she needed some fun Tristen time at the park.

Marshmallow Piggy...ok so one morning after breakfast I decided to give Tristen a little treat..Ok, so Tristen has a sweet tooth like her mommy. Well I was joking around with her and bit half of the marshmallow off and put it on her nose (I am a dork and like doing dumb things to get a rise out of Tristen). Well Tristen was laughing her head off so I decided to take a picture. Now every time I give Tristen a marshmallow she always says "picture". Anyways I thought the pic was cute so I thought I would include it.
