So when you read the title to this entry you are probably thinking that I am talking about the big "R" word.... RESOLUTION. No, personally, I am not a fan of the whole New Year's resolution concept...hmmm perhaps because they are always broken within the first couple of weeks after making them. I am all about making a goal whenever your determination and motivation are high enough to actually stick to the task you are looking to accomplish. With that being said, I have been pretty determined since the day we bought our new home to make some upgrades/home improvements. So finally after mustering up enough courage and confidence we decided to add some chair rail and something that is called faux paneling to our living room and dining room areas. This might seem like a simple task to most, but considering our lack of....how do I say this politely...our experience/expertise, this was a big project for us. Yes, just put it this way, power tools scare me and Jason has never really used them (sorry Hun, didn't mean to out you or anything). Yes, so it was definitely an interesting process to see the two of us work together since my face looked like I was in severe pain every time the trim gun went off. Yes, silly of me I know, but it just takes one misfire in the wrong direction for us to take a trip to the hospital emergency room. I am just a nervous wife and mom when it comes to safety...however, I am actually improving. Well for those who are wondering, we have actually accomplished part of our task. We have almost completed our dinning room area. The results are also in when it comes to our evaluation with our joint effort on this project.......IT WAS A SUCCESS!!!!!!! We are more than proud of ourselves that we did a pretty decent job for being first timers. I am proud of my hubby for learning new skills and for letting me start these random projects in the spur of the moment (might be the impulsiveness of pregnancy at times...you have to love the fluctuation of hormones). I have always known I wanted to start this project, but being 4 months pregnant with a 16 month old running around a getting into things (paint included) wasn't initially what we had in mind. Oh, when all is said and done we are happy that we started this project. So I guess the message for the reader of this entry is...(1) Power tools are still scary and you need to be safe with them
(2) That with a little patience and advice from others, never underestimate
your abilities (3) If Jason and I can do it, anyone can do it :)

Kim,
I'm impressed! It looks really nice. I had to laugh at you 'outing' your husband. I have a similar problem with mine. He's learning but I still don't think he would have tackled that one. My Dad just rolls his eyes. And I had to promise him (Dad) the last time he came to visit that I wouldn't ask him to do any fixing of our house. It was kinda hard to hold back. lol!
Good work! I like that look.
